Biography

In late march in 1999 on a cold spring night, Chris Shaw, A.K.A Blaq Capone arrived in the U.S from Jamaica. Capone was born and raised in Kingston Jamaica. His friends called him Capone because of his tenacity and willingness and ability to take the lead and be the best he can be in any arena. It was not long after he arrived in the US that he noticed a void/lack of local reggae talent, especially in the home state of CT. Capone would take the next 10 years to grow as an artiste, while pursuing a college degree. In 2004, he graduated with the high honors and received a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology (BIT). Capone was told by an old friend then, that “you can’t chase more than one rabbit”, so he continued to focus on his IT career; however, over the years he continued to write thought provoking material that agitated or inspired readers and listeners alike. His creative writing ability was almost a secret to those who knew Capone as a biker. In Oct, 2006, Venom Knights Motorcycle club was founded by Capone (President) and 3 close friends. Capone used this medium to create a self contained volunteer system, where local bikers would dedicate their time and efforts to raise money for different charity organizations, and special needs not for profit groups in CT. Capone is ready to embark on yet another milestone. The pages of history will read that Capone is officially been placed in a category by himself. Why? Because he has the talent to write and sing songs that will appeal to a wider audience. Some people already refer to him as a SingJay, because of his ability to sing soulful rock steady, consciousness or hardcore Dancehall reggae music. These days, Capone, keeps a cool head and remains humble. He challenges himself to write several different types of songs weekly. Capone hopes to be recognized as a diamond in the rough. He is a professional with strong work ethics, a thirst for success and the creativity of a genius.
